A little over a week before WWDC 2022, more details are emerging about what Apple might announce at its annual developer conference. Lock screen improvements According to Gruman, the next version of Apple's mobile operating system will include wallpapers with widget-like capabilities.
The functionality would allow these devices to show you notifications and other visible information without fully activating their screens. It's a feature that's been available on many Android phones for a long time, and Apple reportedly planned to add it to the iPhone 13 last year, but then changed plans.
Gurman reiterates his earlier predictions, saying that iOS 16 will also include improvements to the way the operating system handles multitasking and windowing. Gurman cites a recent tweet from developer Steve TroughtonSmith showing that Apple is likely working on a way to allow IOS users to resize app windows. That's a feature that would be particularly useful on the iPad.
Gurman says he also expects the company to add new features like social networking in Messages. Luckily, we don't have to wait long to see what Apple has planned for iOS 16. WWDC 2022 starts on June 6th.
